Cleaning your dogs ears can be quite challenging. Watch the video to find out how often you should be cleaning their ears. It’s important to not that before cleaning your dog’s ears, if you notice any redness or if your dog seems irritated by them or you notice any sort of discharge coming out, it is really important for you to book an appointment with your vet. They can check if there’s any infection within the ear and can give you the relevant treatment for this.
To clean your dog’s ear, you will need a suitable ear cleaner. You can get this from your vet.
You will also need some cotton wool. Never put cotton buds down your dog’s ears. This can cause serious damage to their ear canal.
Squeeze a small amount of the ear cleaner into the ear and massage it to help break down the wax build up.
Gently use the cotton wool to wipe around the outside of the ear and be careful not to push your finger or the cotton wool too far in.
The more often you clean your dog’s ears, the easier it will become. And don’t forget treats to appease them and lots of reassurance.
